Are you planning an intimate wedding? Since COVID, a lot of couples had to change their plans and had to downsize their wedding to focus on the safety of their family and friends. For the longest time, I always loved large weddings just because of the party atmosphere that the large group of people brought to the day.

Lately, though, that feeling has been changing for me. I have been noticing that when I’m at an intimate wedding, the emotions and the feeling of the day are so much more impactful. There is less of a hectic vibe and much more of energy of a couple’s close friends and family witnessing two people pouring their heart out to each other and vowing to each other that they are in it for the long haul.

The images that I am able to create during an intimate wedding are hard to describe. They have soul, they have authentic passion, and they just seem to have that something extra. It feels that with having such a tight-knit group at a wedding, a couple can be the true version of themselves, the version that they are when it’s just the two of them.

At Amanda and Maggie’s wedding, it was exactly that. The entire day from when they were getting ready and the energy you would feel when they would mention each other and how excited they were for the first look, to the actual first look that took place on a secluded path at the Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, or the intimate wedding that took place outside on the grounds of the environmental center. It was seriously such an honor to be part of such an emotional and amazing day.

The one thing that I loved so much about getting to photograph Amanda and Maggie was the little extras that they would do for every image just to add that personal touch. Like when Maggie would just kiss Amanda’s shoulder when they would hug, or when Amanda would rub Maggie’s hand when they were holding hands. It was just really nice to be able to document and be able to see a couple so in love with each other.

The day ended with a casual cake cutting and a bit of dancing as the sun started to get low in the sky. Congratulations Amanda and Maggie! Thanks for letting me be part of your big day!! If you’re planning your own intimate wedding, contact me! I would love to hear about it!
