Gisella and Bill’s Chicago Elopement

One of my favorite things to photograph is elopements. They are usually nice and small and the bride and groom normally have their closest friends and family around. The emotions are high and the parties have a habit of running late into the evening. Gisella and Bill’s Chicago elopement was no different. This is one couple that you can absolutely tell that they have a spark when they are around each other. Bill’s mother Penny took care of setting up everything so I didn’t get to speak with them before their wedding day but right from the moment I introduced myself, it seemed like we were friends for a while. I met both Gisella and Bill at the Public Landing in Lockport later in the evening and we went right into photos of the two of them before their family started to arrive and while the light was amazing!

One amazing part about elopements, people tend to dress in their own way and Gisella and Bill had some style! Gisella’s dress was designed by Kate Griffith in Ecuador (that’s where Gisella is from, how awesome is that?!) and Bill’s suit was by Ralph Lauren and was a really awesome shade of Gray. During their session, they were hitting every pose perfectly! I am always in search of the little moments that make each couple unique and these two kept me on my toes! It was the little smile that Gisella would give Bill after they would kiss or the small laughs they would share when they would make eye contact with each other.

Once family started to arrive, I took some time to get some images of all of the details they chose to decorate their reception with. They had their ceremony right in the room of their reception and it was nice and short and full of a lot of energy and passion. Right after the ceremony, it was pretty much straight into dinner. I was able to take the rings out onto the patio to take full advantage of the setting sun. Then it was time for me to head out, unfortunately, I would have been happy to spend quite a bit more time with these two. I found out that they are having a larger wedding in Ecuador later this month which I am sure is going to be amazing!! I am very happy that I had the chance to be part of their special day and got to meet all of the incredibly nice people in their family. Congratulations Gisella and Bill, you two are meant for each other!!
