For a while now I have looking forward to my first Northfork Farm Wedding their website here. I would drive by this wedding venue a lot and I knew eventually I would be lucky enough to photograph a wedding there and Elena and Brads wedding was perfect! We started at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Minooka Illinois where I met up with the girls. I don’t think you could fit another person in the room that chose to get ready in because Elena had so many close friends and family that she chose to have a larger bridal party. I photograph quite a few weddings where we start off in a hotel room and its always cool to find the secret spots to take photos where most people wouldn’t even think twice about.

After the hotel, the bridesmaids jumped on their party bus and we headed to their Northfork Farm Wedding. The bridesmaids and I had about an hour before the groomsmen got there so we were able to take full advantage of the beautiful wedding venue. This venue had it all! From the gorgeous rustic barn, the orange bench in the woods, the farm house itself, or the horse stables; I wish we had even more time to take full advantage of this location.

The wedding itself took place in front of two large oak trees with the horse stables in the background and the weather was perfect! Brad shed a few tears as he saw his bride coming down the path and the crowd watched as Brad took her hand and walked her to the arch. The ceremony itself was packed with all of Brad and Elenas close friends and family and was over to soon. We headed right into family photos by the old barn and the light from the setting sun was amazing!

I had plenty of time to work with so we were able to hit a lot of the beautiful spots around the farm. My favorites were inside of the old barn and the paths between the horse stables. After the photo session, we headed right into the tent (I love receptions that take place in tents!) where their wedding reception was and the little details that they chose really matched their style. The first dance was awesome and they really got lost holding onto each other which is always nice to see. The rest of the night the dance floor was packed making it a task to get to the other side of the dance floor. I can’t wait to get my next Northfork Farm Wedding! Planning a wedding of your own?
