Kelly and Mark’s engagement session was one of the most fun engagement shoots I have done!
I saw some snow in the forecast and asked them if they would be interested in taking some
photos in it and they were completely up for it! I woke up that Sunday morning and saw we got
quite a bit of snow!
We decided to meet in the morning at Hammel Woods in Shorewood, IL. to capitalize on the
beautiful light. When I arrived, the forest preserve was still closed, and it still was not plowed
but when Kelly and Mark got there, they didn’t skip a beat and were fully up for walking in the snow. Coffees in hand, we headed into the woods.
The morning light was perfect, and it even started to snow during the photos which was
awesome! Kelly and Mark were naturals in front of the camera and you can absolutely tell that
they are super into each other and it’s really cool to see! After spending some time on the
unplowed road, I asked them if they would mind going into the woods for a little bit so we could
switch up the scenery, and they said definitely!
The snow got a little deep at some parts, but the woods looked amazing and this spot provided
some of my favorite images from the session! This is when the snow picked up a little bit and it
really had an amazing effect on the images. We finished the shoot on the way back to the cars
with an amazing snowy path! I am super excited for their June wedding at the incredible
Warehouse 109! Kelly and Mark, you two are awesome!!
