I am proud to be part of the group of Chicago engagement photographers that call this great city home. We are surrounded by amazing locations like North Avenue Beach. I have been wanting to do a North Avenue Beach engagement preferably at sunrise for a while now. I never really had a problem getting up early especially when it’s to capitalize on some great light but I realize that most people hate getting out of bed early especially on the weekend.
I asked Mindy and Paul if they were willing to wake up early with me to get some epic photos and they said absolutely! There’s something about Downtown Chicago in the morning, it’s so much calmer and everything has such calm energy and looks completely different than it does later in the day.
We were able to get out before the crowds and as one of the Chicago engagement photographers, I definitely know something about a crowd! Seriously though, it had to be one of the most beautiful sunrises that I have ever seen! The lake took on such a beautiful pastel blue and the Chicago Skyline had this beautiful soft golden glow to it which was incredible. No matter which direction I pointed the camera, it was breathtaking especially which such an amazing couple like Mindy and Paul.
Once the sun was up a little bit, we decided to head over to the lifeguard building just to add something different to the photos we were capturing and these turned out to be some of my favorites of the morning.
Photos like these are seriously why I have no problem springing out of bed in the morning and making the drive to the Chicago Lakefront. When you combine incredible light, a beautiful city, and an amazing couple, you get some magical!
