Jack and Mary are one amazing couple! I love seeing couples who are truly in love with each other and these two most definitely are. They have such an amazing energy when they are around each other and they are one of the nicest couples I have had the chance to work with. The first-time meeting Jack and Mary was at Two Brothers in Naperville. We had some coffee while talking about their wedding that they are planning at Cress Creek Country Club. Right away I could tell these two had great chemistry. They were finishing each other’s sentences and knew exactly what the other one was thinking! We ended up talking with each other for about an hour and afterward, they headed to the Christkindlmarket (it was right around Christmas when we met).
We were trying to figure out a cool spot downtown for their engagement photos. Preferably indoors to shelter them from the cold, but it looked like there was a small gap of nicer weather, so we decided to meet at the Adler Planetarium. It was still cold, but I had the chance to scope out the area beforehand and found a really awesome spot by the lake that was surprisingly warm because the wind was being blocked by the planetarium. After spending some time by the break walls on the lake, we headed towards the planetarium itself to work with some its beautiful features. Whenever I am in Chicago for engagement photos, I always get excited to walk around to look for new spots and figure out how we can incorporate the awesome architecture that most of the buildings have into the photos. We found an awesome spot on the side of the Adler which gave us the perfect light and also provided us with some fantastic sun flairs!
We finished up the engagement session right by the water in front of the gorgeous Chicago skyline. This spot is definitely one of my favorites in all of the Chicagoland area. The turquoise water with the muted colors of the buildings makes for one terrific background to finish off one awesome engagement session, and with one amazing couple! I am already looking forward to their wedding in October. I cannot believe that it is only 9 months away!
