With everything going on in the world right now, people are having to adapt and stay fluid. Vacations are getting canceled, plans are being changed, and weddings are no different. There have been so many couples this year that had to take their original weddings and completely downsize them into more of a micro wedding. What I have found though is by doing this, the wedding itself becomes more romantic because the couples are usually surrounded by their closest friends and family members.
The ceremony themselves are often way more emotional which is always such a beautiful thing to witness. Joy and Matt decided to have about 12 people at their micro wedding and it was honestly perfect. They chose to have it at the Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville which was their original planned wedding venue but they chose to have it on the balcony at sunset instead.
I always go on and on about golden hour but it honestly makes so much difference when it comes to the quality of light. When it gets close to sunset, the light takes on such a beautiful golden quality and it not only is incredibly beautiful for you and your guests but it adds so much to the photos. I feel during golden hour you feel the emotion even more in the images that are captured.
If you have never been to Mistwood Golf Club, they have somewhat of a medieval feel to the space which is so unique to the surrounding area. It’s one of those wedding venues when you walk into for the first time, you know you found something special. We usually have full availability to the golf course for photos as well which gives us so much to work with.
Joy and Matt chose to have dinner on the balcony with their wedding guests and it was the perfect way to end the evening. It wasn’t the wedding that they were originally planning but what they ended up getting was something so romantic and so perfect that in my opinion, it was even more perfect than their original plan!
