One reason that I became a photographer was that I really love getting to know people and hearing their stories. I want to know what they are into, what they do for fun, what gets them excited. I also really enjoy seeing how people act when they are around who they love with all of their heart.
The other reason that I became a photographer is it gives me the ability to visit and document amazing places and man did Kendall and Jake pick out one epic spot for their engagement photos.

They chose to have a sunflower field engagement at Heaps Giant Pumpkin Farm in Minooka. I have never seen such an immaculate field of sunflowers in my life. With admission, Kendall and Jake were able to get a vase and made their own arrangement of the different sunflowers that were growing as well as Zinnias.

Heaps Giant Pumpkin Farm is actually family-owned! Here’s a clip straight from their website!
Kevin showed an interest in the farming operation at a young age. However, Kevin put a twist on the traditional crops that were grown on the farm. He found a love for growing pumpkins. What started out as a few pumpkins in the backyard later grew into Heap’s Giant Pumpkin Farm. The pumpkin farm was established in 2001. The family business continued to grow from a front yard farm stand to a whole new addition to the farm.

I have always wanted to capture a sunflower field engagement and I am thankful that I had the chance to do it with such an amazing couple like Kendall and Jake! Sessions like these are the reason why I still get so excited about photography even after 10 years of doing it!
