Have you ever been to the Grand Ballroom at the Joliet Union Station? I hope you are yelling YES! at your computer screen right now. What an amazing wedding venue and one by far the best location in Joliet IL for a wedding. I met up with Amanda and the girls at her family home in Joliet and what a rowdy bunch these ladies were! A lot of times when I walk into a house on a wedding day, people tend to be on the shy side, not these ladies! Right from the start, they were cracking jokes and hitting the mimosas. I had the chance to meet Amanda and Marks dog and you know if you read any of my other blog posts, the more dogs on a wedding day, the better!
Mark ended up coming to the house but we were able to hide his bride so he wasn’t able to sneak a peek. The girls and I headed to the Joliet Union Station to capitalize on all of the beautiful features that this place has! No matter what time of year that I visit this place, the light is always remarkably good! We had plenty of time to explore the station and then Mark showed up with the guys after the bridesmaids hid Amanda. The guys were super easy to work with and a really laidback group that was pretty much up for anything.
The ceremony was nice and short and the beautiful tall ceilings of the Grand Ballroom made for some very stunning images. After the ceremony, we were able to sneak outside for some family photos and then it was time for dinner to start with some really awesome speeches! Both the maid of honor and the best man had the newlyweds cracking up the whole time. After dinner, I was able to sneak out Amanda and Mark for some evening photos which turned out to be some of my favorites from the entire day. After we came inside, it was time to get the dancing started. The dancing probably went on long after it was time for me to leave. Congratulations Amanda and Mark, your wedding day was amazing!
