With all of the restrictions lately and most couples pushing their weddings until next year, I am trying to take full advantage and catch up on all of the weddings that I want to share. Melissa and James had their wedding at the beginning of this year in February. I am glad that I finally have time to share this one.
If you know anything about me, you know that I like cool people and can always go for a warehouse wedding. Melissa and James met both of these criteria! I knew right from the start of meeting these two that they were my kind of couple. They were laid back and went with the flow the entire day. They actually took the time to enjoy themselves which is so awesome to see.
I met Melissa and her bridesmaids at the Home 2 Suites in Joliet. A lot of photographers have mixed opinions about photographing in a hotel room but I honestly really enjoy it. The colors are usually different then you would normally find in someone’s home and I feel people are generally a bit more relaxed. Maybe it’s the fact that they don’t have to clean anything up!
I bounced back and forth between hanging out with the ladies and the guys but managed to get some beautiful candids of everyone getting ready for the wedding. When everyone was done, we headed over to Warehouse 109 in Plainfield. If you have never been to Warehouse 109, check out my Venue Spotlight!
The photos pretty much tell the rest of the story about James and Melissa’s warehouse wedding, but I had such an amazing time getting to know Melissa and James. They are such amazing parents and it’s was so easy how much they love their kids. I especially loved that even during the ceremony, Melissa didn’t mind holding her son.
