Whenever a bride or groom brings up that they are having a Brookfield Zoo Wedding, I automatically know that its going to be a great wedding and Stephanie and Robs definitely was! I really enjoy photographing weddings at the zoo; all of the staff is awesome and makes sure everyone is well taken of, there are so many areas to work with for photography that its hard to choose just a couple, and you get to spend the day with some awesome animals!

For Stephanie and Robs Brookfield Zoo Wedding, I met Stephanie and the girls at the Discovery Center where she got ready and into her dress. There didn’t seem to be any nervousness in the room as her and her bridesmaids messed around and built the lego heart that her and Rob were going to use during the ceremony. After some last minute touch ups, Carly Gessert (the best wedding coordinator for your Brookfield Zoo Wedding or any event on the grounds) took us out to Dragonfly Marsh for their first look.

With first looks, over the years I have seen many different reactions; some are filled with nervous excitement, some are full of emotion, and some are hilarious with the groom not to sure what to do or say. This first look was full of smiles and laughs as he laid his eyes on his bride for the first time. After swan lake, Carly took us around to a few different places including the giraffes, big cats, and a secret spot that we found that most people wouldn’t think twice to stop at.

When you have a Brookfield Zoo Wedding, you get to choose between a variety of locations to have your ceremony at and Stephanie and Rob chose to have theirs at one of the ponds right by the Reptile House (one of my favorite exhibits in the zoo!). The ceremony was pretty quick and was filled with some really awesome heartfelt readings given by the bridesmaids.

After the ceremony, we had a short walk to Tropic World for their cocktail hour and I would have to say that I thought I liked the giraffe exhibit for cocktail hours but I think the primates takes 1st place in my book.

Another great thing about having a Brookfield Zoo Wedding is that you get to choose between many different areas where you can have your reception and Stephanie and Rob chose to have theirs at Bocaditos which is right by the living coast. The room was done really well by the staff at the Brookfield Zoo and once the dancing started, I don’t think there was a single guest sitting the rest of the night. I am already looking forward to the next time I get to photograph a Brookfield Zoo Wedding. If you would like to talk about me photographing your wedding, Contact Me!
