I don’t know how to describe these two awesome people! Renee is a highly skilled costume craftsperson (how awesome is that career?!) and her husband, Kevin, is an incredibly talented hair stylist. Together, they’re two of the kindest, and one of the most awesome couples that I have had the chance to have in front of my camera. Getting to know these two from the first meeting and then their engagement shoot, as well as their wedding, has been such an honor.
Their day started off at a hotel in the Woodstock area and both Renee and Kevin were getting ready at the same location. I started off with Renee and the girls and was able to sneak away to get some shots of Kevin and the guys when Renee was getting her dress on. After everyone was ready, the girls jumped in a van (the guys got picked up 30 minutes after we left) and then we headed over to the All Seasons Orchard in Woodstock.
It was then time for their first look! I absolutely love firsts looks! It’s a great time to get away from all of the commotion of the wedding day and Renee and Kevin’s was AMAZING! We chose to have it on the patio of the orchard and when Kevin saw his bride for the first time, he couldn’t hold the tears back and it was such an awesome moment. Even now thinking back to it, it tears me up. Their wedding itself was under two huge maple trees and it was a perfect day for it with beautiful rolling clouds and warm golden sun. They chose to write their own vows (I feel that writing vows is such an awesome powerful moment to add to a wedding day and I am glad that I can be there for when couples do) and both of theirs were full of passion and humor!
When they were pronounced husband and wife, you could feel the excitement in the air and that excitement carried throughout the entire evening! If you don’t like incredibly heartfelt images of people in love, then you are in the wrong blog post! Renee and Kevin, you both are amazing and I am super happy for you guys!
