Malachi and Emems Cheney Mansion Wedding was unbelievable! I have never photographed a wedding at this wedding venue before and I did some research online before I arrived and I was incredibly excited after seeing everything that this place had to offer. I met Emem and the girls early at the mansion and they chose to get ready in one of the many bedrooms. The girls were hilarious and were laughing the entire morning and were busy topping off each others mimosas.
I hung out for the guys for a little bit who were getting ready in a room down the hall and actually they were a little less energetic than the girls. When it was time to put the dress on, you could see the excitement in Emems eyes. After the dress was on, we did a quick photo session with just the bride and I have to say that she could work it! She was hitting poses and made my job easy!
The ceremony was out on the grounds for this Cheney Mansion Wedding and it was a warm one since it was August. Eddie (the videographer) and I tried to hang out in the shade as much as possible haha. The ceremony was given by Emems brother and it was short and sweet and then it was straight to photos of the family and then the bridal party. After we were done, I took the bride and groom out on the grounds for a quick photo session and it was hard to pick just a few spots to work with because this venue provides a lot of spots that I could work with!
The first dance took place on the patio with all of their friends and family looking on. I personally love photographing outdoor receptions and this one was lit with beautiful warm Edison bulbs which was beyond gorgeous! There were some beautiful traditions that I have never seen before and a ton of great dancers the entire evening. We were able to sneak out in the setting sun for a few more photos which turned out to be some of my favorites. Cheney Mansion Weddings are the absolute best! Check out their site HERE!
